What is IEC 60502-10?

IEC 60502-10 is an international standard that specifies the construction, performance, and testing requirements for power cables with rated voltages up to 18/30(36)kV. This standard is applicable for both indoor and outdoor installations, covering the requirements for single-core as well as multi-core cables.

Cable Construction

The construction of power cables according to IEC 60502-10 involves various layers that ensure efficient and safe power transmission. The core consists of conductors made of copper or aluminum, which are surrounded by insulation material. For cables with three or more cores, they are typically laid-up together with a non-hygroscopic filler.
